2010 ALMS GT Title Defense
Porsche recently announced that Patrick Long will again partner long-time teammate Jörg Bergmeister in the American Le Mans Series for the 2010 season, reuniting one of the Series’ most successful driving duos at Flying Lizard Motorsports. Long and Bergmeister, 2009 ALMS GT2 Driver’s Champions, will compete in the #45 Flying Lizard Porsche GT3 RSR, in the new ALMS GT class, alongside teammates Seth Neiman and Darren Law in the #44 Porsche.

Patrick Long and Jörg Bergmeister won the 2009 ALMS Season Finale at Laguna Seca, capturing the GT2 Driver’s Championship, the Team Championship, and the Manufacturer Championship for Porsche, as well as taking Porsche’s 100th victory in the Series.
The 12th annual Petit Le Mans ended with a damp whimper just before hour nine when the race was called due to rain. Officials had red-flagged the race just before hour five when heavy rain turned the 2.5 mile track into a gigantic skating rink.
Full course cautions filled today’s ALMS race at Road America — with nearly a third of the 2 hour and 45 minute race run under yellow flag. The Lizard squad battled traffic, multiple on-track incidents, and an extremely tough GT2 field for the No. 45 Porsche of Joerg Bergmeister and Patrick Long to finish fourth.
