Lizards 4th at Road America
Patrick Long and teammate Jörg Bergmeister drove the #45 Flying Lizard Porsche 911 GT3 RSR to 4th place at the ALMS’ Road America round, engaging in a race-long battle through four hours. The duo ran as high as 3rd, in a thrilling race, just off the podium. The Lizards qualified 5th in class, and spent the 4-hour race in the thick of the GT action in a race which saw a constantly high pace and clean battles around the high-speed Road America circuit.

Patrick Long experienced the full continuum of emotions this weekend as he raced in the ALMS and Pirelli World Challenge at Mid-Ohio. While he spun out of the lead in a blinding, torrential downpour during Saturday’s ALMS race, he claimed pole position for Saturday’s World Challenge race, claimed the Championship lead and was able to extend his lead in Sunday’s race, despite missing one round of 8 so far this year.
Patrick Long and teammate Jörg Bergmeister were bit again by bad luck at the 2011 American Le Mans Series Grand Prix of Mosport Sunday when a mechanical issue cost them 7 laps in the pits. The duo recovered to finish 12th in the GT class, but out of the points.
Patrick Long finished in 2nd place in Saturday’s ALMS race at Lime Rock, CT, picking up valuable championship points as three of the team’s main competitors clashed and lost significant time in the pits. With Mosport, outside Toronto, Ontario, next on the calendar, Long and teammate Jörg Bergmeister sit 3rd in the Championship, just three points out of 2nd position.
Patrick Long qualified 3rd in GT for the American Le Mans Series at Lime Rock, CT today with a time of 51.872 around the ultra-tight, parklike Lime Rock circuit. Long split the two factory BMWs, which qualified 1-2, and the factory Corvettes, which qualified 4-5. Flying Lizard Motorsports will seek its 6th-consecutive victory at Lime Rock Saturday, while Long goes for his 3rd straight win.
Patrick Long claimed second place at the ILMC 6 Hours of Imola, Italy today, after rebounding from an early puncture and having to pit for fuel on the last lap. Long and co-driver Gianluca Roda, 2010 Porsche Cup winner, finished 2nd to IMSA Performance MATMUT and team owner Raymond Narac, with whom Patrick has driven three times in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. 
Patrick Long will start the 2011 ILMC 1000kms of Imola, Italy, from pole position in the GTE-AM class tomorrow, after setting a blistering time of 1:45.650, nearly three-tenths clear of the second-placed qualifier. Long is driving the #63 Proton Competition Porsche 911 GT3 RSR with Gianluca Roda and Christian Ried.
Patrick Long finished 6th at Le Mans this past weekend, in his 8th consecutive start at the famed endurance race. Driving the #80 Flying Lizard Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, Long and his teammates Jörg Bergmeister and Lucas Luhr looked set for a podium finish before losing two laps to repair a broken injector wire.
