Late Penalty Spoils Laguna
Patrick Long had a strong Porsche under him this weekend at the ALMS 6 Hours of Laguna Seca, but a late penalty for the team driving over its pit equipment exiting a pit stop forced a stop and go, and knocked the duo out of contention for a podium finish. They went on to finish 6th in GT, despite challenging for the lead for most of the race.
Long Victorious in Return to Pirelli World Challenge
Patrick Long set pole position and claimed victory by 3.032 seconds over the Cadillac CTS-V of longtime rival Johnny O’Connell in his return to the Pirelli World Challenge Championship. Long, 2011 World Challenge Champion, picked up where he left off and quickly resumed his winning ways in the series.
Cut Tire Spoils Long Beach
Patrick Long finished 7th in GT at the 2012 American Le Mans Series round on the streets of Long Beach, CA, as a cut tire early in the opening laps spoiled Long’s chances for a podium finish.
Long 10th at Mobil One 12 Hours of Sebring
Patrick Long finished 10th in GT at the 60th annual Mobil One 12 Hours of Sebring in the #45 Flying Lizard Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, after a GTE-AM car crashed into the #45 prior to the start, causing the team to spend the first hour of the race in the pits, fixing the left rear suspension assembly. Long and this teammates Jörg Bergmeister and Marco Holzer soldiered on to collect valuable championship points despite the setback.

Long 4th in Qualifying for 50th Anniversary Rolex 24 at Daytona
Patrick Long qualified 4th in the GT class for the 50th Anniversary of the Rolex 24 At Daytona, claiming a strong grid position after a series of difficult practice sessions. Long, teamed with Flying Lizard Motorsport, will aim to win his 2nd Rolex 24 At Datyona, having triumphed in the GT class in 2009.
Long Named to AARWBA’s All-America Team for Third Time
Patrick Long has picked up a prestigious post-season honor, being named to the American Auto Racing Writers & Broadcasters Association’s All-America team, this year in the at-large category for winning his first championship in the Pirelli World Challenge Series. Long was named to AARWBA’s All-America team previously in 2005 and 2010, and capped the 2011 season with this important honorific.
