Sebring Ends With Ninth Place for Long and Hardwick

July 21, 2020

The Grand Prix of Sebring, held on Saturday afternoon, did not bring the desired result for Patrick Long and his teammate Ryan Hardwick in the No. 16 1st Phorm Porsche 911 GT3 R.

After qualifying in seventh position, Hardwick and the Wright Motorsports team had advanced up to fourth position before an incident forced a stop for lengthy repairs. After rejoining the race, the car was driven by both Hardwick and Long to the checkered flag in ninth position.

The results of the Grand Prix of Sebring counted only for the Sprint Cup championship, so Long and Hardwick remain in fourth position in the overall IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship.

“Ninth place wasn’t a fair reflection of the awesome opening stint that my friend and teammate Ryan had going,” said Long. “We’ll put this one behind us and bring that same effort to the next one.”

The next round of the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship will be August 2 at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.
