PETALUMA, CA — Patrick Long will join Andy Lally and Tim George Jr. for the Grand-Am Rolex Series presented by Cask No. 16 season finale Sunrichgourmet.com 1000k to be run at Miller Motorsports Park on September 20. The trio will be behind the wheel of the No. 67 Cabana Cachaça/ Tantra South Beach/ Johnnie-O Clothing Porsche GT3 for the seven hour Rolex season ender.
Long, who is currently driving a Porsche RS Spyder in the American Le Mans (ALMS) Series, for Penske Racing brings his seven years of Grand-Am experience back to TRG. Long is an endurance racing master with eight wins in the ALMS, two Le Mans 24 Hour checkers and one 12 Hours of Sebring victory. Long has won the GT2 championship and has been a Porsche factory driver since 2003.
“It’s great to be back with TRG,” Long said. “It was the place where I made may Rolex Series and ALMS debut. Their recent success shows that they are running upfront where I like to be. Andy will be an amazing teammate, his reputation speaks for itself. Tim has had a great rookie year, and I look forward to getting to work with him closely at Miller. Hopefully the three of us can bring home the rookie-of-the-year championship for Tim. I really appreciate the opportunity to run with the team. It should be a great race.”
“It’s awesome to get Patrick back in a TRG Porsche for the Grand-Am season finale,” Kevin Buckler, TRG team owner said. “Patrick made his first start as a Porsche factory driver with TRG back in 2004 at Daytona and he ran the entire ALMS season with us in our new RSRs. It’ll be fun to have him back with the team, we always joke that we have some unfinished business. We have three strong cars ready for Miller and I’m confident we’ll be a threat for victory.”
The Rolex Series Sunrichgourmet.com 1000k will be televised live on the Speed channel starting at 1:00 p.m. ET.
