In a 24 Hours of Le Mans race that will go down in history as one of the deepest fields – across all four classes – Patrick Long, Mike Hedlund and Abdualaziz Al Faisal finished p9 in GTE-AM as the class podium was swept by Ferraris. 2017 will be remembered as a race for which overall honors were possible for the slower LMP2 cars, as all six LMP1 Hybrids were hit with mechanical trouble, but ultimately Porsche came through to claim its 19th overall win at Le Mans with the #2 Porsche 919 claiming victory, at the hands of Timo Bernhard, Brendon Hartley and Earl Bamber.
