Park Place Motorsports finished fourth at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park earning the accolade of top finishing Porsche 911 GT3 R in the GT Daytona Class of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

The No. 73 Park Place Porsche 911 GT3 R took the checkered flag with Porsche Works Driver Patrick Long a mere four-tenths of a second behind third place. The fourth-place finish felt like a win after a defeating early retirement seven days ago at Watkins Glen International. Long fought through high track temperatures and large swaths of pickup on the track circuit narrowing the driving line to finish fourth.

Team Principal Patrick Lindsey qualified the No. 73 Park Place Porsche 911 GT3 R seventh for the teams only international event. His qualifying position was applauded after an engine replacement on Friday set the team back in setup development. Lindsey advanced up to fifth place before handing the car over to Long.

Consistent top-five finishes are crucial in the overall championship hunt as fierce competition keeps the point standings close-knit. Park Place Motorsports is second, one point behind first, in the WeatherTech Sprint Cup. Currently, Park Place is tied for third in the GTD Points Championship with Magnus Racing and Turner Motorsports, a third-place finish today would have made them the lone third-place team. Park Place Motorsports is leading the manufacture championship charge for Porsche as the only 911 GT3 R to enter every IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship event.
