P2 at Rolex 24 to Kick Off 2016

February 01, 2016

In the first race of what will be a busy season for Patrick, he and the Black Swan Racing team made a highly successful return to IMSA racing, finishing 2nd in GTD and only 3.048 seconds out of the win at the Rolex 24 At Daytona. Starting from 19th in the 22-car GTD field the team climbed through the ranks and gave Porsche its first podium in the new GT3-spec 911 GT3 R on its competition debut.

Teaming with Tim Pappas, Andy Pilgrim and Nicky Catsburg, Patrick notched up another podium at Daytona. He said, “I was certain after the tests that we would do well at this difficult race. But I didn’t anticipate that the new 911 GT3 R would be so fast and so good to drive. The car is simply phenomenal. Black Swan Racing also worked faultlessly under pressure. We achieved our goal and we’re simply happy. Congratulations to the winners from Magnus Racing. In Sebring we’ll do our utmost to turn the tables.”
