Patrick Long and his Danish teammate Michael Christensen endured a star-crossed race at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca this weekend, finishing the race in 8th place. Starting from 9th on the grid, Christensen absorbed contact from a competitor on the opening lap of the race, spinning and slightly damaging the #912 Porsche 911 RSR, ending up last on the road at the end of the lap. During the race’s only pit stop, Christensen’s entry into the team’s pit stall was compromised by an awkward release from one of the Corvettes, slowing the pit stop and driver change.
Long then fought a damaged front end before the checkered flag fell leaving the Sebring 12h winners in 8th place.
The TUSCC next races in Detroit, on the streets of Belle Isle, May 30-31. Television coverage will be on Fox Sports 1.
