Pole Position for 12 Hours of Sebring
Patrick Long, who will drive with longtime teammate Jörg Bergmeister in the #45 Flying Lizard Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3 RSR for the full 2010 season, will start from pole in tomorrow’s Mobil One 12 Hours of Sebring, after the BMW which went quickest during qualifying failed the stall test during post-qualifying inspection. Long and Bergmeister, 2009 ALMS GT2 Driver’s Champions, will be joined by longtime Porsche factory driver Marc Lieb for this year’s race.

12 Hours of Sebring Preview
Patrick Long and teammate Jörg Bergmeister finished up the annual ALMS Winter Test at Sebring International Raceway on Tuesday, having tested the #45 Flying Lizard Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3 RSR which they’ll share for the 2010 season extensively for two days. 36 cars took part in the two-day test, a record for the ALMS and one of many bright spots leading up to what figures to be an intensely competitive season.
Patrick Long – 2nd in GT at Rolex 24 At Daytona
The No. 67 TRG/Flying Lizard Porsche fought through rain, cold and the relentless demands of 24 hours of endurance racing to a podium finish: second in GT at the Rolex 24 at Daytona. Drivers Joerg Bergmeister, Patrick Long, Johannes van Overbeek and Seth Neiman and the TRG/Flying Lizard crew overcame several technical issues requiring lengthy pit stops to finish second.

Patrick Long qualified the No. 67 TRG/Flying Lizard Porsche seventh in GT for this weekend’s Rolex 24 at Daytona, the season-opener for the Grand-Am Road Racing Series. Joerg Bergmeister, Johannes van Overbeek and Seth Neiman will team with Patrick in the ShoreTel/Openwave-sponsored Porsche GT3 cup car for the 24-hour endurance race, January 30-31, 2009.
“Roar Before the 24” – Rolex 24 At Daytona Pre-Test
Patrick Long, driving the #67 Flying Lizard/TRG Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, ended the Grand-Am “Roar Before the 24” pre-testing weekend in 4th place, having set the fastest time of Friday’s opening practice and the fourth-fastest lap of the combined weekend times.

Flying Lizard Motorsports announced today that The Racer’s Group (TRG) will enter a TRG/Flying Lizard Porsche in GT at the Rolex 24 at Daytona, the season-opener for the Grand-Am Road Racing Series. In the ShoreTel-sponsored No. 66 Porsche GT3 Cup Car, Joerg Bergmeister and Patrick Long will join Johannes van Overbeek and Seth Neiman for the 24-hour endurance race to be held on January 30-31, 2009. Long and Bergmeister kicked off their ultra-successful 2009 racing season with a GT-class win at the 2009 Rolex 24 At Daytona, driving a TRG Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.
