Le Mans Preview

Patrick Long heads to Le Mans this week for his 8th consecutive start in the most prestigious endurance race in the world. Long will drive for Flying Lizard Motorsport, and team with Jörg Bergmeister and Lucas Luhr in the #80 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR.

Long Drives 911 GT3 R Hybrid to First Overall Victory

Patrick Long helped deliver Porsche its first overall victory in endurance racing with the innovative 911 GT3 R Hybrid in the Nürburgring Long Distance Championship this past weekend. By finishing 1st overall, Long has now driven the GT3 R Hybrid to its first competition victory at the 1000kms of Zhuhai, China in 2010, and its first overall victory.

Long Beach Recap

Patrick Long had a frustrating yet satisfying weekend at Long Beach, taking the lead after a 4th place start in his ALMS race, but ultimately scoring a DNF, and setting a lap record, capturing fast race lap and his second pole position in his World Challenge race. Long went on to finish 5th in that race.

St. Pete Sweep

Patrick Long had a stunning debut for TruSpeed Motorsports in the Pirelli World Challenge this weekend, claiming pole position for Saturday’s race and claiming victories in both races on the weekend, the latter despite a 75lb. “success” ballast added to the car for his Saturday victory. Long’s sweep of St. Pete mark TruSpeed’s first pole position and two victories in World Challenge competition.

Patrick Long to Race Pirelli World Challenge in 2011

TruSpeed Motorsports announced today that Patrick Long will race the #45 PrivacyStar Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car in the 2011 Pirelli World Challenge series. Long will race in World Challenge for the first time this weekend, March 25-27, on the streets of St. Petersburg, FL.

6th at Sebring

Patrick Long and teammates Jörg Bergmeister and Marc Lieb soldiered through a difficult Mobil One 12 Hours of Sebring, finishing 6th in GT class. Long and Bergmeister salvaged 5th place points, due to one of the cars that finished ahead of them not participating in the full 2011 American Le Mans Series.

Sebring 12 Hours Preview

Patrick Long launches the defense of his 2010 ALMS GT Driver’s Championship this week at the Mobil One 12 Hours of Sebring, again driving the #45 Flying Lizard Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3 RSR with teammate Jörg Bergmeister.
