Long Performs Down Under
Patrick Long had another standout trip Down Under to race in the Australian V8 Supercars’ Gold Coast 600, this year teamed with Fabian Coulthard in the #61 Bundaberg Racing Holden Commodore. Long’s results of 5th and 15th were solid, and for the second year in a row, he showed his skill in a V8 Supercar as one of the standout “internationals” to contest the race.
Fantastic 2nd Place at Petit Le Mans for Long
Patrick Long and teammate Jörg Bergmeister had a thrilling conclusion to the 2011 American Le Mans Series season, as they teamed with France’s Patrick Pilet to deliver a 2nd place finish in GT, which Bergmeister delivered on the last lap. With the 2nd place championship, Flying Lizard helped Michelin win the ALMS Tire Manufacturer’s championship.

Long Owns the Weekend at Laguna
Patrick Long turned around his run of bad luck in the ALMS in the 2011 season with a breakthrough win in the annual 6-hour endurance race Saturday, then clinched his first Pirelli World Challenge GT Driver’s Championship with a 5th place finish on Sunday.

Out of Luck in Baltimore
Patrick Long and the Flying Lizard team continued its run of bad luck in the 2011 American Le Mans Series season in Baltimore this weekend, after Long was moved to the back of the grid after qualifying in p3 due to a run-in with the #62 Ferrari. In the race, Long swept from last on the grid to p7 before the end of the first lap, but immediately experienced a driveshaft failure which sent him to the pits for 15 laps. He would go on to finish 11th, just out of the points.
Long Doubles Up at Infineon
Patrick Long had a perfect weekend in Pirelli World Challenge competition at Infineon Raceway, taking double race victories, starting race 2 from pole, and claiming fast lap in both races. Taking his 3rd and 4th victories of the season, Long has extended his championship lead with only two races left to run, and his team, TruSpeed Porsche, has extended its team championship lead as well as helped Porsche extend its manufacturer championship lead.
